Power Connection Guidelines for Brocade AC-Powered Systems
This section provides the guidelines for connecting the Brocade complete family of switches and routers AC power supplies to the site power source. Basic guidelines include the following:
- Each chassis power supply should have its own dedicated branch circuit.
- For North America:
- The stackable product line power supply requires a 15A circuit.
- Each pair of 4-slot and 8-slot chassis power supplies requires a 15A circuit.
- Each individual15-slot chassis power supply requires a 20A circuit.
- For International:
- Circuits should be sized according to local and national codes.
- The source AC outlet should be within 6 feet of the product.
- The AC power receptacles used to plug in the chassis must be the grounding type. The grounding conductors that connect to the receptacles should connect to protective earth ground at the service equipment.
