Network Management Solutions
Foundry Networks provides a range of Enterprise network management solutions that allow customers to easily configure, monitor, secure, and report on their valuable network assets. These solutions also provide one of the industry's most comprehensive set of tools to assist network managers and operators in gauging network performance, and finding network problems, both in the wired and wireless infrastructure.
Overview
Foundry's network management solutions revolve around the IronView Network Manager (INM) product, as well as a number of security, management, monitoring, topology, asset, and reporting tools that work in conjunction with INM to help network managers quickly and effectively manage their key network assets.
INM provides a dashboard view of the network status, easy administrative tools for limiting network management access, plus the IronShield 360 closed loop security solution. IronShield 360 provides tools that allow embedded sFlow data to be delivered to INM and converted into PCAP format, where it can be analyzed by open source IDS/IPS software for real-time signature analysis. Malicious events signaled by IDS/IPS software can be processed by INM, and full network level remediation can be done to stop potential attackers.
In addition, INM contains tools for discovering and displaying network topology, for quickly configuring groups of network devices, and for rapidly deploying filters and access control lists. INM also contains sub-managers for monitoring and managing Foundry security, wireless, and traffic management products.
Foundry's Enterprise network management solutions also include support for sophisticated network management applications, such as HP Openview (HP OV). INM can dynamically deliver layer 2 & 3 topology information to HP OV for display, status, and analysis.
Foundry also works with a number of third party solution providers of both security and reporting products to protect network assets from malicious or accidental attacks, and to provide both high-level and detailed reports of converged network activity. This includes both voice, video, and data activity at layer 2 and layer 7.
