Overview

The BigIron RX Series, FastIron Edge X Series, FastIron SuperX Family, and NetIron MLX Series combine high-density 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Foundry's IronWare™ to ensure quick access to data center applications, very low-latency across the network, and high availability for VoIP and mission-critical applications.

Designed for enabling reliable, converged infrastructures and supporting mission-critical applications, the NetIron MLX Series and the BigIron RX Series feature an advanced N+1 redundant switch fabric architecture. This high-availability architecture ensures that the system continues to operate at peak performance even in the case of a switch fabric card failure.

Foundry's FastIron Edge X Series and FastIron SuperX family include advanced Layer 2 services, Foundry's Metro Ring Protocol (MRP) for rapid service restoration in ring-based topologies, VLAN stacking for tunneled VLAN services, and rich bandwidth management features for controlling network utilization.
