Symantec recently released SEP 11.0 and SNAC 11.0, which provides client and clientless Network Admission Control, Intrusion Prevention, and Personal Firewall software that helps to insure the security and IT policy compliance of hosts and systems in a network environment.

The Brocade and Symantec Joint Solution

Together, Brocade and Symantec are able to address customer's complete endpoint security and LAN networking needs. Symantec's endpoint security product – SEP 11.0 – protects endpoints from a variety of network-based attacks, using industry-leading Antivirus, personal firewall, and proactive (zero-day) threat detection and mitigation technologies. By adding SNAC 11, customers are able use their Brocade switches and wireless access points to provision network access based on the end users' identity and their compliance with IT policy. Systems that are not compliant with policy are safely given reduced access, keeping other network users safe and allowing IT to automatically remediate non-compliant systems. The Symantec SNAC 11 is interoperable with the Brocade FastIron Edge switch, FaseIron Edge X series and the IronPoint 200/250 wireless access points.
