Limelight Networks Deploys Foundry For Next Generation Routing Solution For Its Rapidly Growing Content Delivery Business

Foundry Service Provider Routers Deliver High-Performance, High density and Scalability to Support Booming Growth for Limelight Network's Media and Entertainment Customers

(Nasdaq: FDRY) a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing and Limelight Networks, a leading content delivery network for Internet distribution of video, music, games, and downloads, today announced at the SuperComm trade show which opened this week in Chicago, that Limelight Networks has selected Foundry's high-performance NetIron routing solutions and Layer 4-7 application switches to power it's expanding content delivery. Limelight Networks selected Foundry NetIron as their core router for edge locations to enable and aggregate each media distribution center's massive peering and content delivery services. Designed for Service Provider applications, the chassis-based NetIron product family provides unparalleled, wire-speed IP routing performance capacity to meet the expanding requirements of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), Metro and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

Foundry's NetIron high-performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) routers are being used to power Limelight Networks numerous Media Distribution Centers around the globe and deliver immense quantities of high-bandwidth content to large audiences worldwide.

Utilizing the wire-speed IP Routing capacity of the NetIron routers, Limelight Networks has deployed a highly reliable routing architecture to provide a high-performance, highly scalable, and cost effective solution for extremely high-capacity 10-Gigabit aggregation, massive commercial and private BGP peering and routing infrastructure for their next generation CDN delivery services.
