Foundry Networks Extends Its European Certification Training Partner Network
System Network & Training Delivers Certification for Resellers and Corporate End-Users
San Jose, CA, Oct. 26, 2004 – Foundry Networks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: FDRY) a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced the extension of its Pan European certification training partner program, selecting System Network & Training (SNT), to deliver Foundry certification courseware to Foundry resellers and end-user organizations. SNT, based in Red hill, Surrey, is an independent networking and security training specialist now certified as an Authorized Training Partner (ATP) that is leading students towards Foundry Networks Certified Network Engineer or Foundry Networks Certified Network Professional (FNCNE/FNCNP) status. Under the terms of this accreditation, SNT will work in close conjunction with Foundry to localize and deliver training programs in the UK, France, Benelux, Scandinavia and the Middle East.
Training focuses on Foundry's core product range of end-to-end, high performance switch/router and Web traffic management technologies. SNT offers the core Foundry curriculum including a 3-day course on Layer 2/3 switching/routing, a 2-day Layer 4-7 web switching course, a 3-day network management course and a 5-day Advanced Layer 2/3 switching/routing course.
"We have continually updated our FNCNE curriculum to incorporate the latest Foundry products and processes based upon active ATP input," said Gerald Anderson, director of education services, Foundry Networks. "We want to ensure the highest standards are maintained, with customers seeing our ATPs as a transparent extension to Foundry. We are delighted to have SN&T as a certified training partner," added Anderson.
Training and Certification On Demand
SNT provides scheduled courses at their training center close to Gatwick and Heathrow airports and can also provide training at customer sites. Students take certification tests run by Prometric, a world leader in computer controlled testing, in exam-like conditions. The overriding objective of the courseware is to reduce the TCO of Foundry solutions by ensuring that users have the necessary skills and know-how to manage the technology without seeking support or experiencing unnecessary downtime.
"We welcome the opportunity to enable students to increase their effectiveness when working with Foundry Networks' products, thereby enabling organizations to maximize their return on investment in leading edge technologies," said Steve Groombridge, founder of SNT. "We look forward to working closely with a leading network manufacturer and extending our existing networking curriculum in the Service Provider and enterprise markets."
Foundry Networks will continue to evolve how training is delivered using Web and real-time collaboration technologies. FNCNE trainees are also expected to have a thorough understanding before they attend a course. This training is delivered by Foundry Networks ATPs or other third parties meeting Foundry's partner standards.
The opportunity is significant for ATPs and Foundry Networks resellers. The program is being carefully managed to ensure standards are maintained and that ATPs are successful in the market.
