Foundry Selects D-Link India To Become First Authorized Training Partner In India

End Users and Resellers In The Indian Sub-continent Can Now Get Trained On Foundry's State-of-the Art Technology To Gain Foundry Networks Certified Network Engineer and Foundry Networks Certified Network Professional Credentials

San Jose, CA, Oct. 26, 2004 – Foundry Networks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing today announced its first authorized training partner in India to serve the rapidly growing training needs in the Indian sub-continent. D-Link India Ltd., a leader in networking solutions in India, through Intercorridor Systems Ltd. (a fully owned subsidiary of D-Link India Ltd.) is now the first Foundry Networks Authorized Training Partner, and will now offer all of Foundry's state-of-the-art networking curriculum and training courses. Completing these courses is an important part of acquiring the Foundry Networks Certified Network Engineer (FNCNE) and the Foundry Networks Certified Network Professional accreditations (FNCNP). Foundry's certification programs assure networks engineers have the required competence in designing and operating Foundry's broad range of networking products and solutions.

Intercorridor Technical Education Centre (I-TEC) will commence the delivery of courses supporting Foundry Networks' solutions in November, 2004. These courses cover Foundry's complete range of products for high-performance switching and routing, as well as Web traffic management products. Aside from offering a three-day seminar on "Foundry Basic Switch/Router Configuration and Management," Intercorridor (I-TEC) will also offer a two-day introduction course to Web switching and load balancing, as well as a five-day advanced course. The latter is geared towards network administrators who require a very detailed knowledge of Foundry products.

After completing all of the necessary courses, attendees can take a high-level Prometric exam to become a FNCNE or an FNCNP. Prometric is one of the world's leading suppliers of computerized certification exams for products of renowned manufacturers. These examinations put technical knowledge to the proof under test conditions. The pre-requisite for participating in FNCNE coursework is familiarity with TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol).

The courses are geared towards Foundry Networks partners and resellers, as well as end-users. By attending courses, taking exams and attaining FNCNE accreditation, resellers can provide their customers added value in the form of training services. End-users following this track can reduce their company's total cost of ownership (TCO) since they personally will act as the internal expert for a wider variety of network support issues.

"Authorized Training Partners help extend the reach of Foundry's education services across the world," said Gerald Anderson, director of education services, Foundry Networks. "D-Link India, through Intercorridor Technical Education Centre (I-TEC), now helps make our training courses available in the Indian sub-continent. We are delighted to have Intercorridor as a certified training partner," added Anderson.

"Becoming the authorized training partner of Foundry Networks helps us deliver excellent service and support in India by spreading the Foundry technology and know-how to engineers at end users as well as our partners," said Prabodh Vyas, director of sales and marketing at D-Link India. "This is part of our strategy in laying a great service and support infrastructure to service Foundry customers in India," added Vyas.

By helping existing local resellers gain internal expertise, Foundry can maintain its high standards of quality now and in the future. Foundry expects that both resellers and end-users will gain considerable added value from Intercorridor (I-TEC) and their new authorized training partner status that will extend Foundry product experience and network design expertise locally.
